Description

K+S reduced-sodium food salt is a mineral salt containing 50% sodium chloride with added potassium, magnesium and calcium.

This salt has a pleasant flavour and does not differ from ordinary salt in taste, saltiness or colour. It is intended for people who care about their health and wish to reduce their salt intake while preserving the taste of food.

Salt is the main source of sodium, a valuable substance that the body needs. Sodium chloride plays an important physiological role in maintaining osmotic balance and in the secretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. However, a preference for salty foods often leads to sodium intake exceeding the recommended amount. Restricting sodium intake is advised because excess sodium retains water in the body and places a strain on the heart and kidneys, leading to increased blood pressure and swelling.
