Pure-salt lick blocks
Description
Salt is essential for animals. In the wild, they lick salt deposits on rocks or feed in salt caves. In animal husbandry, salt is widely used as a feed supplement for cattle, smaller livestock, poultry and fur-bearing animals.
Salt licks support the proper development of bone tissue and wool, high milk yields, digestion, metabolism and reproduction. They are produced by pressing pure rock salt or vacuum salt. They are also used to help prevent disease in young animals, improve appetite and feed absorption, and prevent weight loss.
Large animals may trample loose salt into the ground. Simply adding salt to feed can lead to excessive intake, which can cause salt deposits in joints and kidney disease. Animal salt is therefore commonly supplied in block form.
Pressed blocks are convenient because animals can regulate their own intake by licking the amount they need. Place them in feeders or suspend them so animals have free access. Ensure that animals have sufficient drinking water.
The high density of SOLSEL blocks makes them resistant to temperature fluctuations and precipitation. They can be stored for long periods in a dry place without deterioration in quality.
