Feed supplement, magnesium sulfate (MgSO4)

Feed-grade magnesium sulfate (MgSO₄) is a mineral feed material used to enrich animal diets with magnesium and sulfur. The product is used in compound feed, premixes and specialised mineral mixtures.

Description

Description:

Magnesium is involved in the functioning of enzyme systems, muscles and the nervous system, and is important for normal metabolism. The sulfate form dissolves readily in water and allows the mineral component to be distributed evenly throughout the feed mixture.

Applications:

— compound feed and premix production

— mineral mixtures for farm animals

— diets for cattle, pigs, horses, sheep and goats

— pet food production

— professional mineral nutrition programmes

Advantages:

— a source of magnesium and sulfur

— easy to mix evenly with other ingredients

— suitable for industrial feed production

— a soluble form of mineral raw material

Main chemical characteristics:

For anhydrous feed-grade magnesium sulfate such as K+S KaSa Mag98:

— chemical formula: MgSO₄

— magnesium sulfate: typically around 98%

— magnesium: typically around 19.8%

— sulfur: approximately 26%

— water solubility: over 99%

— appearance: a light-coloured crystalline or granular product

These values apply to the anhydrous form. Magnesium heptahydrate, MgSO₄·7H₂O, has a different magnesium content and other characteristics. The product form and guaranteed values are confirmed by the batch specification.

Dosage:

The quantity of magnesium sulfate is calculated by a feed technologist or animal nutrition specialist, taking into account the species and age of the animals, the composition of the base diet and the magnesium content of other ingredients.

Packaging:

— bag — 25 kg

— big bags and bulk delivery — on request, subject to availability

Store in a dry place and protect the product from moisture.
