Feed supplement, potassium chloride (KCl)

Feed-grade potassium chloride (KCl) is a mineral feed material used to supply potassium and chloride in animal diets. The product is used in compound feed, premixes and specialised mineral mixtures.

Description

Description:

Potassium is one of the most important electrolytes. It helps maintain water and electrolyte balance and acid–base balance, and is involved in the functioning of cells, muscles and the nervous system. Potassium chloride dissolves readily in water and is suitable for uniform distribution in a feed mixture.

Applications:

— production of complete compound feeds

— premixes and mineral feed mixtures

— feed for farm animals

— pet nutrition

— selected feed formulations for aquaculture

Advantages:

— a concentrated source of potassium and chloride

— good solubility

— convenient industrial dosing and mixing

— precise adjustment of the mineral composition of feed

Main chemical characteristics:

For feed-grade potassium chloride such as K+S KaSa K99:

— chemical formula: KCl

— potassium chloride: typically around 99%

— potassium: approximately 52%

— chloride: approximately 47%

— appearance: a white, finely crystalline product

— solubility: fully soluble in water

The potassium and chloride contents are calculated for pure KCl. Guaranteed values, including moisture and secondary salt content, are stated in the batch certificate of analysis.

Dosage:

The inclusion rate is determined by an animal nutrition specialist based on the species, physiological condition and full composition of the diet. Potassium and chloride supplied by other feed ingredients must also be taken into account.

Packaging:

— bag — 25 kg

— big bags and bulk delivery — on request, subject to availability

Store in a dry, enclosed space and protect from moisture.
