Pure dried vacuum salt
Food-grade vacuum salt is produced by evaporating saturated sodium chloride brine in vacuum crystallisers. It is characterised by uniform grain size, high purity and complete solubility.
Food-grade vacuum salt
Description
Vacuum salt is produced from saturated sodium chloride solutions (brine) by evaporating water in special vacuum crystallisers. The brine is obtained through underground solution mining, in which salt deposits are dissolved. This mining method is used for deposits typically located at depths of 450–1,300 m.
Food-grade vacuum salt is used in food production as a flavouring, preservative and carrier for nutritional additives such as iodine.
Its distinguishing features include a uniform fine grain size, exceptionally high purity and complete solubility. In addition to its consistent appearance, it has a sodium chloride content of at least 99.8%.
Available grain sizes
- Micro-fine: up to 0.16 mm
- Ultra-fine: up to 0.35 mm
- Standard: up to 0.71 mm
- Coarse: up to 1.25 mm
K+S food-grade vacuum salt has been certified to ISO 9001:2008 and meets HACCP certification requirements.
Used in food production as a flavouring, preservative and carrier for additives such as iodine. Its high purity, consistent grain size and complete solubility make it suitable for these applications.
