Falksalt and Sailor salt flakes

Falksalt and Sailor pyramid-shaped salt flakes are premium gourmet salts produced in the Republic of Cyprus from high-quality sea salt.

Production begins in specially prepared ponds on the Mediterranean coast, where solar energy evaporates seawater to produce unrefined sea salt. The salt is washed several times to remove insoluble particles that enter the ponds with seawater. No chemical reagents are used in this process, preserving the minerals naturally present in Mediterranean seawater.

The salt is then dissolved and recrystallised using special moulds that produce flakes or pyramids.

The production technology was developed by the Swedish company AB Hanson & Möhring, which also owns the production facility in Cyprus and the Falksalt trademark.

The Falksalt range includes natural, iodised, black and smoked pyramid flakes, as well as varieties flavoured with lemon, mushrooms, rosemary, wild garlic and red pepper.
